7 Monks Cafe is a mother-and-daughter kitchen run by Rashmi and Neeta. The Indian side of the menu comes from the food they grew up with — grandmother's curry recipes from Mumbai, the street-food pakoras of the bazaars, the spice cabinets of two generations of family cooks. The Mediterranean side comes from travel — picked up on the coast and in France, blended into shawarma marinades, hummus spreads, and pita wraps that share counter space with the curries.
The cafe opened in downtown New Braunfels in 2019. Same menu the family eats at home, served to the neighborhood from a kitchen at 494 N Seguin Avenue.
Family recipes, no compromises
Tikka from grandma. Shawarma from the road. Both spiced like the kitchen would for the family table.
